is with immense joy and a heart full of gratitude that the National Secretary,Honorable Ogunlade Ayodele (ACTI), on behalf of the National President, BOT,

the Old Students’ Association of Army Comprehensive High School, Akure, as they
celebrate the 44th anniversary of their beloved alma mater.

Brief History Of Army Comprehensive High School, Akure

Army
Comprehensive High School, Akure, was established on the 25th day of October,
1980, within the Army Barracks, Headquarters 32 Artillery Brigade, Owena
Cantonment in Akure, Ondo State.

The
school was founded with the vision of providing quality education to both the
children of military personnel residing in the barracks and students from the
surrounding Akure town.
The
school quickly became a symbol of discipline and academic excellence, blending
military discipline with conventional education.
The
pioneer principal, Pa Jolade, played a crucial role in imposing standard
educational qualities on the students of the school.

His
leadership helped shape the school’s early ethos, instilling values of hard
work and discipline.
Apart
from him, the school saw the reign of a celebrated and well-respectedprincipal, Bashun Seined Arogbofa, under whose tenure the school continued to
grow in both academic and extracurricular achievements.
In
recent times, some alumni members embraced the appointment of the new principal
of Army Comprehensive High School, Akure, Hon. Mrs. Ola-Obaado Dorothy Simbo.
Throughout
the years, the school boasted a remarkable faculty known for their dedication
and teaching prowess.
Among
the notable teachers were Mr. Akinsumade (late), who inspired countless
students with his excellent instruction in Mathematics, Dr. Kolade, who guided
students through the complexities of Chemistry, and Mr. Kadri, whose passion
for Geography left a lasting impression on his students.
Additionally,
Mr. Olowokere, the English Language teacher, was known for his sharp intellect
and his ability to bring out the best in his students through language and
literature.
Together,
these educators and leaders made Army Comprehensive High School, Akure, a
beacon of education, discipline, and growth for students, leaving a legacy that
continues to influence the school to this day.

The Construction Of Six New Classrooms| Addressing The Classroom Shortage
The
Old Students’ Association of Army Comprehensive High School, Akure, has once
again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the growth and development of
its alma mater.
In
response to the growing demand for learning spaces due to an increase in student
population, the association has spearheaded the construction of six new
classrooms, providing much-needed relief to the school.
Army
Comprehensive High School, Akure, has faced significant challenges in recent
years, particularly the scarcity of adequate classrooms to accommodate its
expanding student body.
The
surge in enrollment has put pressure on existing infrastructure, with students
often having to contend with overcrowded classrooms, limiting the quality of
education.

While
the six new classrooms are a major milestone, the Old Students' Association
recognizes that there is still much work to be done.
The
association continues to call on its members, partners, and well-wishers to
lend their support to other pressing needs of the school, including the

To
tackle this pressing issue, the Old Students' Association, a vibrant and
dedicated group of alumni, rallied its members to raise funds and resources for
the construction of additional classrooms.
Their

The
G-91 Alumni of the Old Students’ Association of Army Comprehensive High School,
Akure, held its much-anticipated third convention in grand style, marking
another milestone in their ongoing efforts to give back to their alma mater.
The
event was filled with nostalgia, camaraderie, and a renewed commitment to the
growth and development of the school.
The
highlight of the convention was the awarding of prizes to outstanding students
from JSS 1 to SSS 3, as well as a reflection on past efforts to renovate
classrooms and school buildings.
At
the heart of the celebration was the presentation of awards to the
best-performing students in the school.
The
G-91 Alumni group, which consists of students who graduated in 1991, has always
prioritized education and academic excellence.
As
part of their commitment to supporting the younger generation, they awarded
prizes to top students across all grade levels, from JSS 1 to SSS 3.
